How to reach | This temple is located 12 Kms from Tiruchy on the south bank of river Kollidam. One has to get down at Tiruvaasi, which is on the Tiruchi – Musiri road. The temple is located very close to the bus stop at Tiruvaasi. |

Temple: This temple has a 5 tier Gopuram (Tower) with 2 prakarams. The shrine for the female deity is in the 2nd prakaram facing west. Earlier period chola kings like Parakrama Chola, Rajaraja Chola have made a lot of contributions and endowments to this temple. There are shrines for Vinayagar, Natarajar and Somaskandar inside this temple.
Sundarar got a bag of gold coins at this sthalam from Lord Shiva by composing a Pathigam. Sambandar cured the disease of a king’s daughter by the grace of Lord Shiva after composing a Pathigam here.
